Cardiovascular Care

Heart Institute of the Cascades: Cardiovascular Care

By working closely with physicians, hospitals, and the community, the Heart Institute ensures that leading-edge, state-of-the-art cardiovascular care is available to Central and Eastern Oregonians, close to home. While the Heart Institute does not directly provide care, it supports and promotes best practices in cardiovascular care.

At the present time, the Heart Institute's parent members primarily serve Central and Eastern Oregon. More and more, people throughout the Pacific Northwest are coming to Central Oregon to avail themselves of special diagnostic techniques such as electron beam tomography (EBT) and to receive treatment for unusual heart diseases such as pulmonary hypertension. The heart surgery program is becoming recognized as the best in the Northwest. With the growing prestige of the Heart Institute, patients from throughout the United States and around the world will be attracted to Bend for hospital and physician care provided by our parent members.

With cardiologists, heart surgeons, related specialists and the hospital working closely together and supported by programs of the Heart Institute, patients with heart disease receive improved, integrated care, close to home. For example, with the new Heart Center, a patient can receive the most innovative and cutting-edge testing, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services efficiently and conveniently. This coordination improves patients' experience and also reduces costs.

Patients from throughout Central and Eastern Oregon and beyond have easy access to advanced cardiac services. Referring physicians can contact specialists in Bend directly to arrange care.
